In this position, you will provide systems engineering leadership and support to our NASA customers for a flight software project. This project is in support of the NASA Gateway/Lunar/Mars Artemis exploration program.
As a systems engineer, you will collaborate with a team of engineers to create life cycle artifacts such as concepts of operations, requirements, verification plans, ICDs, design reviews, safety reviews, schedules, management plans, etc. You will also be in charge of identifying risks to the project.This position requires experience and capability in leading a cohesive team and presenting topics to management. As such, it is critical that candidates possess excellent written and verbal communication skills. Also, candidates should have good interpersonal skills that help maintain a good team environment.Required:- Bachelor or Advanced Degree in Engineering or Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
- 10 years of applicable professional experience including leadership responsibilities
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills
- Experience in systems engineering or a related technical field
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- NASA experience with flight project management
- Experience with NASA JSC flight software development processes
- Systems Engineering certifications or formal training
- Project management certifications or formal training
- Experience with NASA/JSC EA-WI-025 or other SE&I processes
- Knowledge of spaceflight communication protocols, data handling, and testing architectures
- Knowledge of Time-Triggered Ethernet protocol/architecture
- Knowledge of Core Flight Executive (cFE) and Core Flight System (cFS) framework
