JOB DESCRIPTIONCandidates must be eligible to permanently work in the US. This position is a contract position with the possibility to go perm. (Please be aware that all newly hired Employees are required to be vaccinated.)The Sr. Systems Specialist will provide technical and analytical system support for enterprise class GIS mapping systems, supporting various business groups and their GIS mapping needs. This position will work as a part of an IT support team and provide technical assistance to key business users and IT peers, support and administer GIS related software applications, deliver coded solutions for enhancements and new functionality as well as provide technical application and project support. The individual will have direct support responsibility for a subset of business users, including troubleshooting, analysis and problem resolution, solution design, participation in on-call rotation, as well as accountability for delivery of technical designs, technical development, testing, and implementation support.

• Work directly with Enterprise IT, Enterprise business users and vendors to deliver high-value technical solutions and capabilities in support of changing business requirements, new business initiatives, and general application support services.• Assist with performing systems analysis for projects of major scope and various complexities to provide a means for solving technical and business-related problems/challenges.• Support existing GIS application(s) by troubleshooting issues, analyzing possible cause, defining solutions, and working through defined change control processes to enable quick resolution.• Work directly with end users and GIS analysts to understand new/changing business requirements and functional enhancements as requested.• Assist architects with technical specifications and develop solutions in support of business requirements.• Assist in coordinating end user support by timely acknowledgement and logging of reported impediments and completion of initial bug triage and assessments.• Acquire and maintain system and business knowledge needed to support both end users and other internal or external technical teams.• Prepare and present status updates for current work tasks, share any blocking items, and provide accurate estimates for work efforts and completion dates.• May be called upon to interact with internal business users and IT co-workers, with occasional/moderate interaction with external customers. The successful candidate will meet the following qualifications:• Bachelor of Science degree from a 4-year accredited university, or 5 years of related industry experience or equivalent technical experience.• Computer Science, Computer Information Systems (CIS), or Management Information Systems (MIS) degree is preferred.• 3+ years of experience in Information Technology specific to GIS application development and GIS application software support• 3+ years working directly with software vendors to deliver high value system projects is preferred.• Experienced in the following technologies: ArcGIS Portal, ArcGIS Server, GeoServer, SQL database, Visual Studio, and Microsoft SSRS with strong project and business analyst skills.• Language: strong C# skills is preferred• Strong problem solving, analytical, and decision making skills.• Experienced in database design, table creation, development of stored procedures, and referential integrity.• Ability to develop, support and tune multiple system interfaces.• Dedicated to meeting the expectations and requirements of internal and external customers.• Prior experience integrating energy transportation applications is a plus.• Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with co-workers and customers• Ability to professionally deal with difficult/tense situations.• Ability to pick up on technical concepts quickly and can learn new skills and knowledge.• Enjoys working hard in a fast-paced, action oriented environment.• Excellent written and verbal communication and organizational skills.
