Job Title: Heavy Equipment MechanicJob DescriptionEssential duties:Performs scheduled preventive maintenance such as changing oil, greasing and replacing components.Troubleshoots systems and components utilizing electronic diagnostic tools.Operates precision measuring devices to measure the tolerances of bearings and shafts, also to level and align rotating machinery.Operates hoists and hydraulic jacks to position or remove components.Reads and interprets service manuals, parts books, prints, and schematics.Uses computer to generate work orders and parts requisitions.Troubleshoots and repairs electrical, hydraulic, air mechanical, and air conditioning systems.Other duties:Operates the equipment to diagnose problems and to test operation after repair.Operates light vehicles to travel throughout the mine site.Performs other duties as assigned such as operating heavy equipment.Hard Skills

Experience in repair and maintenance of heavy equipment and diesel engines

Ability to read, understand and use electronic diagnostic tools, prints, and manuals

Knowledge of mechanical systems (engine, transmission, drive train), pneumatic systems, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and air conditioning systems

Skill in diagnosing malfunctions

Experience working on Tier 4 engines

Experience working on and repairing 4 phase motors

Experience working on hydraulics, fuel lines, brake lines, and other components
