HOTEL LIFEGUARD

Presents to work well-groomed representing self and hotel.

Arrives before scheduled shift begins.

Maintain a professional relationship with all guests, supervisors, coworkers, vendors, guest contractors and representatives.

Supervises swimming activities at the aquatics facility and ensures that policies, guidelines and safety procedures are followed.

Warns swimmers of improper activities or danger and enforces pool regulations and water safety policies.

Administers first-aid in the event of injury, rescues swimmers in distress or danger of drowning and administers CPR and/or artificial respiration, if necessary.

Evaluates conditions for safety and initiates aquatics emergency action plan as required.

Inspects pool facilities, equipment and water to ensure that they are safe and usable. Daily (periodically) testing of pools and backwashing is being done and logged.

Supervises and assists in cleaning the pool and related facilities and equipment, assists with chlorine residual water tests and with records and charts of water tests and adds chemicals to pool water as directed.

Inspect and lock-up all equipment in storage areas.

OPENING SHIFT:

Complete sunscreen and uniform on log sheet.

Record oxygen tank reading on log sheet, chemicals must be added as needed.

BVM (Bag Valve Mask) and First Aid Kit must be placed outside with backboard.

Water slide must be swept and wiped clean with Wexcide or proper solution.

All filters must be backwashed.

Oxygen tank door must be unlocked and remain unlocked while lifeguards are on duty.

CLOSING SHIFT:

Chemical readings must be recorded on log sheet, chemicals must be added as needed.

BVM, First Aid Kit, Rescue tubes and Fanny packs must be locked in storage room.

All filters must be backwashed.

Oxygen tank door and doors to all storage rooms must be locked at closing.

Slide equipment must be turned 'OFF'

Turn "OFF" music/stereo system

Confirm gate to slide is Closed and Locked.

LIFEGUARD REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

Certified Lifeguarding, CPR/AED, First Aid Certification

Keen attention to detail

Ability to react appropriately in stressful, high-pressure and fact-paced emergency situations.

Compassionate and service-oriented attitude with a passion for maintaining the safety of the facility.

Excellent communication skills.

COMPENSATION $14.00 per hour.

Prefer Certified Lifeguard. Will pay certification fees for dedicated and qualified candidate. Must pass all facets of Lifeguard Courses with certification. Must sign Lifeguard Employment Agreement to complete 90-season.
