$45/hour P/T ESL Teacher

We are looking for an experienced ESL teacher to teach a 1 1/2 hour class twice a week in the evenings (5:45-7:15 pm) either Mon/Wed or Tu/Th (yet to be determined) to a group of students (anticipating 6-10) in the North Austin/Wells Branch area at our client site. This would be a workplace ESL type of learning environment working with vocational workers who are a blend of Nepalese and Hispanics. We are not yet sure of the level of this class at the present moment. This would actually be a second additional class for an ESL program we have been running at our client site since October of last year.

We would be looking to start the classes in July at the earliest and maybe in August depending on the client receiving approval from upper management.

We are offering $45/hour for class time plus mileage reimbursement at a rate of 70 cents/mile for the round trip distance from the teacher’s house to the client site for site visits to teach classes.

We would prefer an ESL teacher who has a Bachelor’s Degree and at least 2 years of ESL/EFL teaching experience. Experience teaching abroad is highly valued as is experience teaching in an adult ED atmosphere with students who come from a more limited formal education background. The ideal candidate should be comfortable working without the need for direct supervision as we foster an environment that encourages and respects the creative agency of the teacher.
