The indirect tax specialist will be responsible for assisting the senior staff with compliance and audit management for Public Storage, including third parties and related entities in the U.S. (40 states).  The specialist will assist in compiling data that is used to prepare returns in-house.  The specialist will assist in maintaining and updating OneSource and all integration points with the POS and SAP.  The specialist will be responsible to:  Assist in the compilation of data for the preparation of indirect tax returns Assist senior staff in the gathering and analysis of supporting documentation for indirect tax audits Perform general indirect tax research and advisory services, including resolving various indirect tax issues and questions for the business, as well as customers and vendors while maintaining positive relationships Assist senior staff in conducting reverse indirect tax audits Assist senior staff in the monitoring of tax compliance for company locations to ensure the properties adhere to company tax policies and procedures Assist in the maintenance of the OneSource indirect tax system and procedures, including working with information system personnel to develop and refine tax data collection systems, and assisting in the updating of tax procedures manuals Maintain control sheet for monthly, quarterly, and annually filed sales tax returns for Public Storage, third party properties, and related entities Work with third-party management group making sure all sales tax filing information has been obtained, including licensing, filing frequency, login and contact information Prepare check requests to submit to A/P for payment Match A/P checks and reports to state and local sales tax returns Scan, copy, and mail certified, all state and local sales tax returns monthly, quarterly, and annually or file online where applicable Other duties as assigned by senior staff and management
