JOB DESCRIPTION ERCOT is looking for a hands-on Informatica consultant with prior experience in developing Star-Schema Data Marts with Type 2 Dimensions. Ideal candidate will have prior experience in working with an environment very similar to Ercot which includes (Informatica, Cognos, SQL, PL/SQL) to minimize the ramp up time so can begin working immediately on ETL development activities. Consultant will be part of a talented software team that works on multiple applications and are expected to provide solution for the problems.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Coordinate and deliver on tasks related to ETL and/or Business Intelligence development
  • Complete and submit deployment request documentation and support migration activities
  • Coordinate with other teams at ERCOT for Connectivity, Version/Patch Update, Upgrade and Database activities.
  • Conduct and document unit tests and support integration testing

COMPETENCIES / SKILLS
  • In depth knowledge of ERCOT business functions and processes to determine impacts to a portfolio based on upcoming changes
  • Ability to mentor team members and lead complex efforts with little supervision
  • Excellent written and verbal Communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work with analysts and stakeholders for requirements definition
  • Expertise in data modeling and data modeling concepts

REQUIRED TECHNICAL SKILLS
  • Informatica
  • Unix/Linux OS
  • Oracle RDBMS
  • Cognos
  • PL/SQL
  • SQL

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
  • Requires minimum 5 years of hands-on experience with Informatica ETL Power Center
  • Requires minimum 5 years of hands-on delivery experience in PL/SQL and SQL
  • Requires minimum 3 years of hands-on delivery experience in Cognos
  • Excellent understanding of data warehousing, business intelligence, ETL, and SDLC, and Agile concepts

EDUCATION• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science is required, or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
