Job Description: Capital projects are major construction projects that deliver the new assets needed in the transition to net-zero emissions. Capital Projects are delivered to all businesses: to Upstream, Integrated Gas, Downstream, and - rapidly growing - to the Renewables and Energy Solutions business, which includes areas such as offshore wind, hydrogen, renewable natural gas and biofuels.The Capital Project IT Lead has end-to-end responsibility for the delivery of the IT scope of a Capital Project.The IT scope in a Capital Project typically covers the deployment of a broad spectrum of applications, execution of multiple IT infrastructure projects and managing the provision of IT support services to the user base.

The Capital Project IT Lead:
  • During the project, executes and maintains the "IT for Project” scope
  • Plans, executes and towards the end of the project, hands over an integrated permanent suite of applications, systems and infrastructure to Production Operations ("IT for Operate” scope).

Educational Requirements/ Technical Certification/ Accreditation: Graduate Degree in any discipline PMP, CSM, PSM, etc.

Work Experience:
  • 10+ years' experience in IT with 5+ years of experience in managing Infrastructure and Applications deployment projects or Program through the entire lifecycle (start up to close down).
  • Experience in managing project size up to 2 Million and 20 member team size.

Must Have Skills:
  • IT project or, preferably, program manager experience / Skilled in applications deployment, infrastructure / telecom / Process Control Domain (PCD) solutions delivery in a Capital Projects environment / Sounds understanding of Contracting & Procurement processes in Projects (prequalification, invitation to tender and award stages).
  • Strong team leader, consistently delivers results through others in a matrix, virtualized environment / Effectively establishes and handles contacts with stakeholders of all types and at all levels in the organization / Communicates effectively and understands the needs of non-technical internal clients.
  • HSSE Leadership: leads by example and regular hands-on engagement with the IM/IT team members and execution contractors on the subject of HSSE, including periodic site safety walk-downs / Ensures minimum HSSE competency level amongst IT and IM Contract Holders.

Nice to Have Skills:
  • Engineering workflows and the role of engineering data management in a Capital Project, (Capital) Project Management Framework, Opportunity Realization Process, Discipline Controls and Assurance Framework (DCAF) process, Project Standards and the Design and Engineering Practices (DEP) framework or similar industry processes and standards.

Preferred Business Domain Skills/Line of Business: Upstream / Downstream / Renewables

Not Looking for: Candidates who, whilst they may have may have strong Capital Projects or Information Management backgrounds, have no IT experience- in particular a strong Infrastructure background is a must.
