ONLY CANDIDATES LOCAL TO TEXAS NEED APPLYOur client seeks an IT Linux Network Consultant to provide overall network engineering and Linux environment support for a broad range of real-time business-critical platforms. The consultant’s job duties include designing, documenting, and building Linux-based solutions; maintaining various network components; using experience to recommend new technologies and solutions. This position requires on-call rotation to support 24-hour utility operations and travel to different sites to survey and integrate network solutions. The primary duties of the position:
  • 1. Rotation within the 24-hour utility operations
  • 2. Identify and resolve Linux related issues
  • 3. Provide Linux maintenance (CVE patches, kernel upgrades), evaluations, and recommendations
  • 4. Contribute to Linux configuration (network scripts, sysctl, udev, log files) and managing network security devices
  • 5. Deploy and maintain Linux systems (physical and virtual infrastructure)
  • 6. Act as SME for related NERC/CIP compliance and audit efforts
  • 7. Provide collaborative input to infrastructure planning and design
  • 8. Present findings to key stakeholders
  • 9. Travel to and from different work sites to perform work, as needed
  • Minimum Requirements:
