- 8+ years of experience as a Project Manager managing large, complex projects in a high-tech development environment
- BA or BS or equivalent experience is required; MA or MS is a plus
- PMP preferred
- Experience in Financial Services, Alternative Assets or Banking
- A proven track record of successfully implementing software or web development projects using Agile methodologies
- Prior experience with SCRUM/Agile methodologies with application development projects. PMI-ACP, CSM, or equivalent preferred
- Proven ability to lead software development projects and ensure objectives, goals, and commitments are met
- Efficient in Smartsheet, Microsoft Project, Visio, Microsoft Office and Agile Project Management tools such as DevOps or equivalent
- Excellent oral and written communications skills
- Experience interacting with employees at all levels including the executive level
- Solid understanding of software development life cycle models
- Expert knowledge of both Agile and traditional project management principles and practices
- Creative approach to problem-solving with the ability to focus on details while maintaining the “big picture” view
- Strong analytical, planning, and organizational skills with an ability to manage competing demands
- Balanced business/technical background:
- Sufficient level of technical background to provide leadership to development teams and to be able to accurately and objectively evaluate complex project risks and issues
- Ability to provide leadership to business analysts and collaborate with customers and develop strategies and solutions of high business value
- Oversee aspects of IT projects including setting deadlines, assigning responsibilities as well as monitoring and summarizing progress
- Develop a detailed project plan including project schedule, issues/risk log, and regular reporting to monitor and track progress
- Follow Release and Change Management SDLC processes
- Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule and project costs using appropriate verification techniques
- Measure project performance using appropriate tools and techniques
- Determine operational objectives by studying business functions; gathering information; evaluating output requirements and formats
- Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility
- Ensure resource availability and allocation
- Evaluate business processes, anticipating requirements, and uncovering areas for improvement
- Perform risk management to minimize project risks
- Establish and maintain relationships with third parties/vendors
- Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation
