TITLE: IT Project Manager

Qualifications
  • 8+ years of experience as a Project Manager managing large, complex projects in a high-tech development environment
  • BA or BS or equivalent experience is required; MA or MS is a plus
  • PMP preferred
  • Experience in Financial Services, Alternative Assets or Banking
Experience overseeing multi-function project teams with 5 -10 team members including Vendors, Developers, Business Analysts, and QA Personnel
  • A proven track record of successfully implementing software or web development projects using Agile methodologies
  • Prior experience with SCRUM/Agile methodologies with application development projects. PMI-ACP, CSM, or equivalent preferred

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies
  • Proven ability to lead software development projects and ensure objectives, goals, and commitments are met
  • Efficient in Smartsheet, Microsoft Project, Visio, Microsoft Office and Agile Project Management tools such as DevOps or equivalent
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills
  • Experience interacting with employees at all levels including the executive level
  • Solid understanding of software development life cycle models
  • Expert knowledge of both Agile and traditional project management principles and practices
  • Creative approach to problem-solving with the ability to focus on details while maintaining the “big picture” view
  • Strong analytical, planning, and organizational skills with an ability to manage competing demands
  • Balanced business/technical background:
    • Sufficient level of technical background to provide leadership to development teams and to be able to accurately and objectively evaluate complex project risks and issues
    • Ability to provide leadership to business analysts and collaborate with customers and develop strategies and solutions of high business value

Essential Functions
  • Oversee aspects of IT projects including setting deadlines, assigning responsibilities as well as monitoring and summarizing progress
  • Develop a detailed project plan including project schedule, issues/risk log, and regular reporting to monitor and track progress
  • Follow Release and Change Management SDLC processes
  • Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule and project costs using appropriate verification techniques
  • Measure project performance using appropriate tools and techniques
  • Determine operational objectives by studying business functions; gathering information; evaluating output requirements and formats
  • Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility
  • Ensure resource availability and allocation
  • Evaluate business processes, anticipating requirements, and uncovering areas for improvement
  • Perform risk management to minimize project risks
  • Establish and maintain relationships with third parties/vendors
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation
  • Track project performance to analyze the successful completion of goals
  • Meet budgetary objectives and make adjustments to project constraints based on financial analysis
  • Develop comprehensive project plans to be shared with associates
  • Develop presentations, diagrams and process maps to document needs
  • Update, implement, and maintain procedures
  • Prepare reports for upper management
