Business Analyst is responsible for identifying and documenting the business needs of their clients and stakeholders and helping to determine feasible solutions to meet business needs or resolve business problems.

This position has the following accountabilities:
  • Precisely capture business problems, value drivers, and functional/non-functional requirements, including health, safety, security, usability, data, and supportability considerations.
  • Translate business requirements into functionality and assess the risks, feasibility, opportunities, and business impacts of various solution options.
  • Assess, use queries, and model processes, data flows, and technology to understand the current value and issues, and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Create clear documentation to communicate requirements and related information; keep updated to align with the solution over the project lifecycle.
  • Ensure traceability of requirements from business needs and requirements, through testing and scope changes, to final solution.
  • Interact with software suppliers, designers, and developers to understand technical and process limitations, deliver elements of system and database design, and ensure that business requirements and use cases are handled.
  • Configure and document processes, templates and software queries using agreed standards and tools.
  • Create acceptance criteria and validate that solutions meet business needs through defining and coordinating testing.
  • Seek guidance from more experienced Client and be open to learning on-the-job.
  • Familiarity with Networks, Voice, and circuits terminology & device types
  • Familiar with technical and network device interconnectivity for discussions with Houston-based Trading-specific Network & Voice Operations (TSNVO) OLM (Operate Landscape Manager), a key stakeholder
  • Drafting the definition of TSNVO and ET-SOM Connectivity roles respectively for the support of Trading-specific network, voice, and circuits devices
  • Drafting of a new TSNVO Demand Management process and template
  • Drafting of a new TSNVO project tracking process and template
  • Create ServiceNow (SNOW) queries to Client the Networks-specific devices inventory for key Trading sites
  • Access ASSAI document & drawings portal to find network diagrams for Trading key sites to cross-reference to the SNOW query results
  • Identify which TSNVO documentation and networking diagrams will require updating (evergreening)
  • Any experience with service billing, invoicing or COBACHI (Consumption based charging implementation) would be a bonus.

Special Challenges:
  • TSNVO people are Houston-based, co-ordination will be with them (they start their working day at 07.00 Central / 13.00uk)
  • Drafting the definition of roles & responsibilities demarcated between T&S Trading SOM and ET-SOM Connectivity teams
  • Co-ordinating discussions between TSNVO OLM and ET-SOM Connectivity team leads to gain agreement on the new Operate role definitions, relating to Trading-specific network, voice, and circuits devices
  • Clarification of Networks devices Billing and Invoicing cycle for Houston 1000 Main location (HOU-OTM), analyzing and drafting a subsequent process for new standardized way of working
  • Guide business stakeholders to gain acceptance / sign-off for changes in Networks device ownership in ServiceNow.
  • Describe potential solutions in terms easily understood by T&S SOM and TSNVO stakeholders and set realistic customer expectations for the project outcome. Adjust customer expectations in accordance with changes in scope.
  • Generate innovative approaches to existing problems and new opportunities.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to build trust and understand their goals, motivations, constraints, risks, and operating environment.

Skills & Requirements:
  • Understanding of systems engineering concepts
  • Familiarity with Networks, Voice & circuits terminology & device types
  • Familiarity with ServiceNow (SNOW) queries
  • Persistence in searching for Networks, voice and circuits diagrams and documentation in ASSAI or other document management systems (EDMS)
  • Persistence and patience in discussions between TSNVO and ET-SOM Connectivity teams for the agreement around their respective roles, for Trading-specific devices
  • Experience in Agile tooling (e.g., VSTS/ADO) is preferable
  • Ability to take a systematic and analytical approach to problem solving and pay close attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal skills
