A tech services company in Texas is currently seeking a new Java / Grails Software Developer for a promising Remote opportunity with growing Agile Development team. In this role, the Java / Grails Software Developer (Remote) will be responsible for supporting the development and enhancement of a custom JAVA based software application and SSRS reports.
Responsibilities: The Java / Grails Software Developer (Remote) will:- Build and code applications and/or modules using languages, such as Groovy/Grails, Java, .NET, etc.
- Collaborate with the Scrum team when troubleshooting, performing data requests and creating new enhancements for the client
- Design, build, and implement reporting solutions which meet user requirements
- Maintain and support existing reports, reporting tools, and reporting libraries
- Utilize SSIS, SSRS, SQL and occasionally JIRA to produce accurate, timely results in response to complex, time-bound problems
- Incorporate standards and best practices, including performance, security, scalability, and maintainability
- Review and provide feedback on functional and technical requirements
- Provide easy to understand responses to questions or problems
- Analyze issues with reports or other sections of our Grail's application
- Perform other duties, as needed
- 5+ years of Java experience; 2+ years of Groovy / Grails Development experience
- Experience working with SQL Server (e.g., Procedures, Views, Functions) and BI tools such as Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services (2016 or higher)
- Experience with Jira, Fisheye, and Confluence (Atlassian Suite), Jenkins and other CI/CD tools
- Experience working with source control repositories such as Subversion & Git
- Experience constructing web applications using Groovy/Grails/C# .NET
- Experience integrating web applications with SQL databases using Hibernate
- Experience with jQuery
- Experience with Telerik UI for ASP.NET AJAX
- Understanding of cloud computing concepts
- Experience working with Source Control (planning, merging, patching)
- Any current Microsoft Certifications
