ProFound Staffing is working with a global company in the
Houston, Texas Downtown area that's searching for a Java Software Team Lead with hands-on Java development skills and team management. This position is called a Technical Lead Software Engineer. The candidate will have team management responsibilities to hire a team of two to three (2 to 3) Software Engineers. The Technical Lead Software Engineer will lead a highly collaborative and diverse team working on best-in-class software solutions. This company is going through a rapid period of change which makes this opportunity an exciting time to join the company and team. The Technical Lead Software Engineer requires a highly motivated individual who is still very much a hands-on Java coder. It’s important in this role for the incumbent to have a strong software engineering and technical leadership background in order to work with a talented and diverse group of technologists. The Technical Lead Software Engineer will be responsible for the uplift and modernization of the company’s product suite, building where appropriate and using vendor solutions to scale up quickly.The global company is in a rapid phase of enhancement and uplift with several green field projects kicking off aiming to transform of their applications from on-prem monoliths to cloud native Microservices. In addition, utilizing Kafka streams and containerization to deploy robust and scalable distributed systems to meet the growing needs of the business areas they support.The Technical Lead Software Engineer should be passionate, and results focused, capable of designing and building secure, scalable and resilient solutions using modern technologies and tools. They need a technical expert, that’s comfortable in the details but also able to explain and advocate architectural best practices. The Technical Lead Software Engineer will hire a team of engineers for the journey, mentoring them to achieve their best, whilst importantly having fun along the way. This company needs someone that has a strong work ethic and a can-do attitude, leadership and communication skills to work with stakeholders at all levels to deliver real business outcomes. - The company will consider candidates transferring H1B Visa sponsorships.
- Client will not work with third party vendors, RPOs or consultants on C2C or C2B.
- Extensive and current experience with Java and Python
- Proven track record of team leadership
- Solid understanding of distributed systems design and management
- Hands-on experience of cloud migrations and cloud readiness strategies (preferably using AWS)
- Good knowledge of JavaScript frameworks/libraries preferably AngularJS
- Exposure to investment banking products and processes
- Strong analytical, problem solving and analytical skills
- Hands-on experience with Kafka and Kubernetes
- A desire to lead from the front
- A learning mindset, curious about the business outcomes that drive our functional requirements
- Ability to identify opportunities for productivity enhancing automation
- Strong commitment to the delivery and the support of critical business functions.
