At Texas Health Southwest and Texas Health Clearfork we’re one hospital in two locations. We’re a 261-bed, full-service hospital serving southwest Fort Worth and surrounding areas since 1987.We specialize in surgical services, orthopedics, rehab services, imaging services and adult critical care, and we have a 24-hour emergency department. Plus, we are a certified Primary Heart Attack center, certified Primary Stroke center, Level III Trauma, Level III Maternal, Level III Neonatal center, certified Total Hip and Total Knee Replacement facility, and a nationally accredited Breast Center.Texas Health Southwest has received Magnet designations, plus a CMS 5-Star rating, the US News & World report top hospital award, and multiple awards for STEMI/NSTEMI.Job DescriptionOperations: Plan, organize, and delegate activities as required for safe, efficient, and effective operation of the department(s) including active participation with other hospital and leadership staff to accomplish this purpose. Identify and utilize processes and resources that support optimal delivery of data and information to staff.Human Resources: Accountable and responsible for staffing needs. Responsible for personnel functions including staffing, performance reviews and corrective action. Promote professional growth and development of all employees. Recognize and reward individual and team accomplishments. Supports shared decision-making to develop inter/intradepartmental teamwork and team goal accomplishments. supports THR/THSW/Laboratory KPI indicatorsFiscal Management: Prepare operating and capital budgets for areas of responsibility. Manage the approved budget and adjust strategies as needed to meet budget expectations. Communicate information from management reports to direct care providers. Support THR/THSW KPI indicator in Operating Income. Supports THR/THSW KPI indicator of Total Expense per Adjusted Discharge.Customer Satisfaction and Continuous Quality Improvement: Incorporate customer needs and expectations into daily operations and business planning strategies. Promote team building strategies and principles of group process in interaction with staff. Supports THR/THSW KPI indicator in Customer Satisfaction.Professional Accountability and Compliance Standards: Network with peers to share ideas and conduct mutual problem-solving. Recognize/communicate ethical and legal concerns through established channels of communication. Promote and demonstrate the professional image of laboratory science in demeanor, appearance, attitude, and behavior. Supports THR/THSW KPI indicator of Quality/Patient Safety. Engage in self-performance appraisal, identifying areas of strengths as well as areas for professional practice development.EducationBachelor's Degree Medical Technology or related field RequiredMaster's Degree PreferredExperience5 Years progressive leadership experience Requiredand10 Years in a clinical lab with experience in high complexity testing RequiredManagerial Experience PreferredLicenses and CertificationsMT(ASCP) - Medical Technologist or equivalent Upon Hire RequiredSkillsExcellent communication skills including strong positive interpersonal skills, the ability to read, write, and speak English clearly. Problem solving ability, time management skills. Ability and skills to manage and counsel employees. Possess organizational skills to multi task and function successfully in a fast-paced work environment. Computer expertise in Word, Excel, Power Point and/or other data bases. Administrative skills to compile statistics and maintain logs. Clinical laboratory skills, Financial analysis, budgeting and, statistical skills that include knowledge of laboratory validations. Mathematics and statistical expertise with interpretations of QC data, budget analysis, presentations skills, and financial analysis skills.
