JOB SUMMARYProvides a focus for coordination of the integration of large flexible loads into the ERCOT System. Implements cross functional processes and rules and coordinates the development, implementation, and support of appropriate system modeling, tools, information requirements, and policies and procedures to monitor and engage the integration of large flexible loads and any associated revision requests. Implements appropriate system modeling, develops tools, policies, and procedures to monitor and control the system, performs system studies, analyzes simulated or actual operating results.

JOB DUTIES
  • Implements policies and procedures relating to the integration of large flexible loads into the ERCOT System
  • Collaborates with other ERCOT departments on policies related to planning, markets, and operations, as they relate to large flexible load interconnection processes
  • Gains knowledge of related market rules; and considers associated Revision Requests
  • Responsible for coordinating the modeling of Large Flexible loads into the ERCOT System from the initial application into the Planning Models
  • Implements methods and processes to increase model accuracy including data comparisons and validity checks
  • Ensures collaboration between ERCOT teams for technical content of network model operations activities and procedures relating to Large Flexible Loads
  • Reviews relevant Interconnection studies for Large Flexible Loads to ensure compliance with NERC and ERCOT rules
  • Reviews and approves modeling data for all phases of the interconnection support for Network Modeling of large flexible load in the Operations model
  • Reviews and approves Large Flexible Load energization.
  • Develops and maintains databases and tracking tools for Large Flexible Loads interconnections
  • Communicates ERCOT requirements to Market Participants who are interconnecting Large Flexible Loads
  • Develops, enhances, and maintains reports associated with Large Flexible Load processes
  • Provides technical support to Large Flexible Load Manager and provides regular updates of these datasets
  • Supports staff representing ERCOT in technical committees and subcommittees
  • May coordinate, provide presentations, and participate in stakeholder meetings with ERCOT personnel, Market Participants, and industry Regulatory agencies
  • Works proactively with upper management to plan and execute ERCOT’s mission and initiatives relating to Large Flexible Load interconnections
  • Develops and sustains a high-level understanding of the competitive energy markets and its relationship to Large Flexible Loads

EDUCATION
    • Bachelor's Degree: Engineering or related field (Required)
    • or a combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge to a major in such fields is required

EXPERIENCE
      • Requires minimum 2 years related work experience in excess of degree requirements
      • 1 year Powerflow studies in transmission or distribution systems
      • Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint experience
      • Ability to read and understand electrical one lines and drawings
