Our AI programmers bring that combat to life with the development and implementation of ind ustry-leading creature behaviors, pathing and attacks.

We are looking for an experienced

AI Programmer to work as part of our development team making AAA games by leading AI and related technology development for the game industry's most advanced engine technology.

Position based in Richardson, TX. Will consider remote.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the AI programming team and partner with engineering, design and art teams to define, create and polish AI systems and behaviors.
  • Develop and support tools necessary to support advanced AI development.
  • Through continuous feedback , as well as the annual performance review, help the team members develop their skills and capabilities towards the short- and long-term studio goals.
  • Ensure that team members have sufficient knowledge, direction , and resources to carry out their responsibilities , and are accountable for team deliverables
  • Being an active member of the team, architecting and implementing features in C/C, that are CPU, and memory efficient with an eye to a high- quality end-user experience.
  • Collaborate well with programmers and other disciplines involved in the day-to-day work.
  • Write clean, professional, well commented, and maintainable code.
  • Review code written by programmers across the studio and collaborate with them to improve code quality
  • Help mentor and guide less experienced programmers on AI systems.
  • Proactively keeping an eye on new technologies and tools on the market and suggesting ways of implementing them into our workflow when applicable.

Qualifications

  • 7 + years programming experience of which at least 5 years at a AAA game development studio following a whole development cycle.
  • Experience in a technical leadership position in game development
  • Strong C design and coding experience
  • Experience writing code that balances performance and maintainability .
  • Strong 3D math skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and problem-solving ability
  • Comfortable working in cross-discipline teams
  • Excellent organization and time management skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to write clear, maintainable, portable code that adheres to a well-documented coding standard
  • Must be a self-motivated and energetic team player with a very strong work ethic and cooperative attitude

Preferred Skills

  • Significant contributions to at least 1 AAA shipped game
  • Experience with developing first-person shooters
  • E xperience with any version of idTech
  • Experience with C11
  • Experience with animation or gameplay programming
  • Experience with game editor and commercial (Max , PhotoShop , Modo, etc.) plugins/modification
  • University or equivalent programming-related degree
