Our client, a real estate technology company with offices in both in Miami, FL and Dallas, TX, is in need of a Lead Data Steward for a six month contract position, likely to extend. The Data Steward will be working in a hybrid model, onsite three days/week in either Dallas or Miami FL, helping the client leverage trusted and business-ready data and analytics assets to guide decisioning. The position sits in Data Management and Architecture arm of the client's Enterprise Data and Analytics team, which aims to drive improved business outcomes using insights gleaned from data and analytics. The Lead Data Steward will become a go-to expert on the who, why, what, where, and how of our critical data and analytics assets, and will develop a deep understanding of our core business process that drive the data lifecycle.

Responsibilities:
  • Steward data within a hybrid top-down and bottom-up (agile) data governance environment, where adoption can be driven through company-wide standards imposed from above or through the regular workflows of data users
  • Serve as subject matter expert for our critical data and analytics assets and help users find and access the information they need
  • Analyze, understand, and provide mappings for data requests to support the data products team
  • Collect, triage, and resolve questions and issues with data
  • Define and monitor data quality rules and standards for data and analytics assets, and facilitate issue remediation with the appropriate stakeholders and decision makers
  • Manage metadata, including business rules, and operationalize, administer, and train our associates on our enterprise data cataloging solution
Required skills:
  • 7 years experience in Data Stewardship, Metadata Management, and/or Enterprise Data Management
    • Must be comfortable with an agile data management approach that focuses on empowerment and quick iterations
  • Expertise with Database Management Systems, SQL, Data Warehouses, and Metadata Management including data lineage, source to target mapping, and business rules and definitions
  • Experience in modern data cataloging tools such as Alation and
  • Basic proficiency in SQL to be used for data profiling
  • Ability to work with data modelers to inform enterprise data model design with core business entities and data elements
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and documentation skills
