Lead Gunsmith Position

BRACKEN GUNS

Position: Gunsmith…modify, repair, and maintain customer firearms. One-deep position with a strong customer clientele and business influx.

Availability Date: Immediate: Fulltime position, but semi-flexible to the Gunsmith schedule.

Pay: Position is paid by work accomplished on the 1st and 15th of each month…Gunsmith keeps most of it. Shop pays ALL rent, electric, phone, network, etc. Gunsmith focuses on firearm repairs.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Communicate effectively with customers about gun problems, modifications, and available repair options

Knowledgeable and able to use gunsmithing tools and equipment.

Use skilled techniques to maintain, modify, and repair customer firearms

Keep accurate documentation of work performed on each firearm and disposition records

Maintain the cleanliness of our gunsmith shop

Performs other related duties as assigned concerning gunsmithing and occasional gun shop daily activities.

REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES

Sound knowledge of gun control laws and gun safety practices

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

Exceptional communication and customer service skills

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

High school diploma or equivalent

Completion of a gunsmith apprenticeship or accredited gunsmith program is strongly preferred

Eager to train and self-develop/expand gunsmithing skills

Knowledge of firearm modification, assembly, repair, maintenance, and testing

Professional appearance and demeanor

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS

Working conditions are primarily climate controlled indoors. Test firing is outdoors, subject to weather.

Subject to stool sitting or standing for extended periods and light lifting.
