About this Opportunity The Systems Engineering family is responsible for the entire technical effort to evolve and verify solutions that satisfy client needs. The primary focus is centered on reducing risk and improving the efficiency, performance, stability, security, and quality of all systems and platforms.

The Lead Platform Engineer is responsible for administering and supporting Container Platform ecosystems for the organization in both AWS public cloud and on premise. This includes managing container tenant provisioning, isolation, and capacity. This role will work directly with infrastructure as code-based automation to manage the capacity of the overall platform and deliver new capacity and capabilities as necessary. Having a strong background in Linux administration, virtualization, networking, and security will be in successfully fulfilling this role and in providing first class level 3 support. Additionally, understanding application development lifecycles as well practical experience in working with continuous integration and continuous deployment tools as part of the container lifecycle is imperative.

What You'll Do
  • Contribute to and support the corporate Enterprise Container Strategy
  • Manage the container platform ecosystem (installation, upgrade, patching, monitoring)
  • Independently installs, customizes and integrates commercial software packages.
  • Cluster capacity management and provisioning through automation of underlying hosts
  • Provide L3 engineering support
  • Work with experienced team members to conduct root cause analysis of issues, review new and existing code and/or perform unit testing.
  • Identify ideas to improve system performance and impact availability.
  • Create system documentation/playbook(s)
  • Partner with experienced team members to develop accurate work estimates on work packages.
  • May serve as a mentor on procedural matters to less experienced internal and third-party team members.
  • May assist team members with the delegation of work packages.
  • Aligns risk and control processes into day to day responsibilities to monitor and mitigate risk; escalates appropriately.

Sound Like You?
  • Minimum of 6 years of related experience
  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience

Additional Qualifications
  • Expertise with the RedHat OpenShift Container Platform
  • Expertise with Kubernetes.
  • Expertise in RedHat Linux administration.
  • Expertise working with Docker or similar container technologies.
  • Experience with AWS cloud PAAS/IAAS technologies.
  • Experience with configuration management tools (Ansible, Puppet, and Chef).
  • Experience building CI/CD pipelines for application delivery
  • Experience delivering infrastructure as code using CI/CD practices
  • Experience working with infrastructure as code technologies such as Terraform
