Anderson Cancer Center is to eliminate cancer in Texas, the nation, and the world through outstanding programs that integrate patient care, research and prevention, and through education for undergraduate and graduate students, trainees, professionals, employees and the public.S UMMARYThe primary purpose of the Coordinator, Lead Services position is to provide operations and clinical support to the center, coordinating all tasks associated with patient services including patient scheduling, template maintenance, and other tasks as needed to expedite clinic flow. Collaborates with supervisor and/or manager to oversee Patient Services Coordinator (PSC) schedules, and assumes primary oversight of PSC onboarding, training, and mentoring. The position requires flexibility and the ability to function in multiple patient support capabilities across multiple centers if needed and as delegated by center and ambulatory business services management team.The ideal candidate will have healthcare experience, as well as experience scheduling. Leadership experience is also preferred.JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIESOperations Support:· Creates, maintains, and edits PSC schedules as needed to maintain sufficient coverage for center needs.· Provides frontline oversight to daily operations and workflows for PSCs. Functions as a technical expert and resource for the center for patient scheduling, understands and educates all center employees on best practices and other systems related to the work of PSCs in the center.· Schedules patient visits, physician appointments, diagnostic tests, procedures, and treatments.· Template maintenance support.· Communicates pertinent information regarding appointments, scheduling, and necessary preparations to patients, families, physicians, team members and other patient care areas.· Demonstrates flexibility in responding to patient/unit needs. Functions across multiple centers as needed for patient care needs.Leadership/Training:· Design, develop and execute new PSC onboarding.· Trains, mentors and coaches PSCs regarding clinic procedures, systems, scheduling policy and procedures, and new skills.· Collaborates with supervisor and manager to oversee and monitor PSC performance metrics.Human Resources Responsibilities:· Supports and provides input into recruitment/selection of new PSCs.· Contributes to annual or periodic performance evaluations.· If indicated, provides input for expectations memos and/or performance improvement plans for PSCs. Contributes as indicated to other disciplinary processes.· Monitors time for PSCs, including editing timecards if indicated. Works with supervisor to adjust schedules as needed to manage overtime.Other duties as assignedEducationRequired : High School Diploma or equivalent.Preferred : Associate's degreeExperienceRequired : Five years of relevant work experience. Three years of required experience with preferred degree.
