Description: Job Title: Lead, Systems Engineer Position: AS20212210-71437 Location: Plano, TX Job Description: Let's start with who we are: Advanced Systems & Technologies (AS&T) division specializes in developing disruptive, next-generation technologies for advanced radar systems, next-generation weapon systems, and other RF sensor technologies. What does that mean ? It means that as the non-traditional 6th prime, we're developing entirely new clean sheet designs. We aren't designing upgraded parts of an existing system. We are immersed in technology and we are technology driven. Model Based Systems Engineering is part of our systems engineering DNA. What's a day in the life like in this role? This is a Lead Systems Engineering position, so the tasking is like what you've done before. But the difference is that you're working in a completely different culture and mission mindset. Our team sizes are smaller, allowing for collaboration, great ideas, and contribution from all levels in an agile product development environment. In other words, you're not stove-piped into one area, and instead can work the entire engineering lifecycle. You get to solve hard problems. Your day is spent working on new and exciting technology and methodology that hasn't been done before. You're inspired to do your best work every day, because what we do matters! Essential Functions: Lead a systems engineering team in development, implementation, testing and analysis of technical products and systems
Requirements definition, flow-down and traceability for complex electronic systems
Plan cost, schedule and execution plan of complex development and test activities
Develop, track and present technical performance metrics
Perform risk assessment and develop mitigation strategies for complex projects
Lead Systems Engineering Integrated Product Team
System design synthesis of complex electronic systems
Perform trade studies on a variety of system issues and components
Perform design verification testing efforts including lab, chamber, ground and captive flight test
Analyze data from design verification test efforts
Develop and run simulations and other analysis tools to predict system performance in various environments
Generation of supplier statements of work, supplier oversight, auditing of supplier-delivered artifacts
Present results during internal and external program meetings
Participate in proposal activities both cost and technical
Travel 10-25%; support field testing

Qualifications:
U.S. citizen
Active DoD clearance; must be able to obtain additional clearances as required
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or science
Minimum of 10 years of experience in a related engineering field with some systems engineering experience in complex system development
3+ experience with RF or radar system components including antenna, receiver, exciter, and processor
5+ requirements definition, flow-down and traceability
6+ months of experience in role that includes prior supplier oversight/ actively managed suppliers in the past
6+ months with Matlab C, C, or Python
Preferred Additional Skills:
Master’s degree in Engineering or Science
Experience with proposal development including generating basis of estimates
Design, development and/or testing of radar or sensor processing is highly prized experience
Experience with Radar processing modes is highly valued
Defense industry experience and working knowledge of military standards is preferred
Experience in development of use cases developed from customer objectives and concepts of operations
Experience with Continuous Integration
Experience with requirements management using DOORS
Model Based System Engineering exposure or experience
Experience with Earned Value Management and Control Account Management
Design to cost experience
Excellent people skills, with experience leading and collaborating in a multi-disciplinary, diverse, and dynamic team environment.
Outstanding work ethic and commitment to organizational success
Excellent problem-solving skills
Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, & presentation)
