We are currently seeking a Level 5.5 Lab Compute Cloud Platform Administrator to join our client s team onsite in Austin, TX.Lab Compute Support in Scope:Looking for a Cloud support Administrator to provide sysadmin functions within RH OCP. Advanced Cloud concept knowledge and demonstration of previous management or implementation with both RH OCP and WRCP (Wind River). Administrator will be familiar with Rocky Linux and have proven experience with Linux Shell Scripting and understanding of commands. Ability to work with other Senior Engineers and assist with documentation and implantation of support. Cloud Support Administrator duties:
- RH OCP - Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform on Cloud
- Contributes to and supports the corporate Enterprise Container Strategy by identifying ideas to improve the system performance and impact availability
- Implement solutions provided by the customer such as change management of container platform for new versions of SysAdmin, patching and openshift tasks
- Works with experienced team members to conduct root cause analysis of issues
- Assist senior members with the delegation of work packages
- WRCP - Wind River Container Platform
- Familiarity with Wind River Platform solution (open source)
- Demonstrate ability to deploy and implement product integration activities
- Working understanding of virtualization concepts and virtual system administration technologies
- Kubernetes Support
- Proven experience with different container run times such as Docker
- Familiarity and understanding with K8, Docker or other container platforms involved in automating many of the manual processes involved in deploying, managing, and scaling containerized applications
- Rocky Linux - Linux Flavor from Rocky
- Familiar with advanced Linux commands
- Familiar with VI Text Editor
- Understanding of Linux user management, file systems and partitions
- Familiarity with Process Management
- Experience with backup and restore functions in Linux
- Experience using networking commands to troubleshoot or implement network settings
- Knowledge of CIFS shares for Windows and NFS exports for Linux
- Understand where shares are mounted during bootup or through static mount / autmount
- Linux shell scripting knowledge or understanding
- Familiarity with deploying Debian, SLES 11,12 via Cobbler or similar Deployment Tool via the network
- Familiarity with Ubuntu
- Familiarity with Samba Shares
- Minimum 2 to 3+ years of experience preferred with Cloud Support Platforms and Kubernetes Support are preferred. Will consider 1 to 2+ years if well versed with Rocky Linux
- Ability to succeed in high paced environment
- Experience with infrastructure provisioning, monitoring and support with RH OCP, WRCP and Kubernetes
- Physical Lab Support
- Build systems and configure hardware and platforms from a BOM
- Custom OS or software support needed in the Lab environment
- Server / HW experience and administration strong requirement
- Experience supporting systems in a datacenter environment
- Strong understanding of network devices in a production lab / data center environment is required or in test floor / development environments
- Strong working knowledge of Linux is a must
- Working knowledge of Windows
- Familiar with using and executing scripts
- Working knowledge of VMware or Hypervisors
- Familiar with using OS provisioning tools for OS installation (Puppet, Cobbler, Kickstart, etc.)
- Install updates to firmware or system drivers
- Maintaining systems, tool support PC's, servers and KVMs to ensure connectivity
- Setting up multiple clients that connect to one server in temporary lab projects
- Complete intake process request i.e. ticket.
- Will be required to complete Client training (Hazardous materials, data center safety, etc.)
- Read, understand, and follow test documentations.
- Assist in volume equipment upgrades, testing and readiness tasks including lab space alterations, equipment allocation/placement and basic rework.
- Must know how and when to escalate and ask for help.
- Remote Installation and/or Upgrading of Hypervisor software on Client Blade series hardware
- Integrating Hypervisor Servers into existing Virtualization Environments
- General VM access, configuration and troubleshooting
- Moving and provisioning of VM's or Image templates within the Virtualization Environments
- Generic Virtualization troubleshooting of hypervisor and web interfaces
- Generic Virtualization Storage troubleshooting
- Guarantee iLab server and KVM connectivity; as well as all non-IT network connected iLab hardware
- General understanding of Virtualization concepts and implementation (i.e. setup, install, configure, troubleshoot)
- General understanding of Network Management (i.e. interconnectivity, integration, Add/Edit/Remove requests, firewall restrictions)
- General understanding of Remote Connectivity & Management (i.e. integration with iLab, DNS requests, Edit/Change/Remove requests)
- Working knowledge of Windows OS's
- Basic knowledge of installing and networking Linux (no Linux OS troubleshooting required)
- Collaborate with a team of software and networking engineers to ensure the security and efficiency of data center server / network
- Monitor customer network servers and storage systems to ensure uptime and efficient resolution of issues
- Listen to customer complaints and assist them in the resolution of technical issues
- Perform EOL procedures on systems that have been targeted for retirement
- Rack new servers; coordinate new landings.
- Understand network topology in order to serve as a liaison between customers and Networking Team
