The OpportunityThe Licensed Specialist In School Psychology (LSSP) assesses the psychological needs of students referred to special education services and assists multi-disciplinary teams during Admission, Review and Dismissal (ARD) meetings to make data-driven decisions to support students with Individual Education Plans (IEPs). The LSSP provides appraisal services and often serves as a team member on the 504 and/or Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) team.Key ResponsibilitiesReceive student referrals and implement the assessment and evaluation process within state timelinesConduct Full and Individual Evaluations (FIEs) by assessing the psychological and psycho-educational needs of students referred to special education servicesParticipate in the Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) Committee to assist with interpretation of assessment data, appropriate placement, and development of Individual EducationFollows district, state and federal regulationsMeets all required timelines for assessment, reports, meetings, and documentationFacilitates the coordinated efforts of evaluation personnel and services providersAttends all required meetings and staff development.Performs other duties as assignedRegular and reliable attendance is an essential job functionPerform professional psychological work in assessment, behavior management, and counseling for students with emotional disabilities, learning disabilities, and behavioral problemsRegular district wide travel to multiple schools as assigned
