In addition to outstanding technical expertise, the individual must have strong customer relationship skills, possess a positive team-player attitude, be flexible and willing to take on new assignments and responsibilities as they arise, and be an articulate speaker able to communicate complex technical ideas in a convincing manner.More About the Role:Job responsibilities include:- Analyze functional interactions between the Lunar Gateway VSM and lower-tier Module Systems Managers (MSMs) and document in use cases.
- Define and document command and data flows to integrate VSM and MSMs.
- Support definition and refinement of goals, tasks, constraints to accomplish integrated control of Gateway Systems by VSM.
- Mature and validate the integrated Systems Modeling Language (SysML) model.
- Provide input to software architecture and design artifacts.
- Provide support to the Lunar Gateway Mission Management Working Group (MMWG) in defining tasks and constraints that require VSM-MSM interaction.
- Interface with various stakeholders including the Flight Operations Directorate (FOD) and development teams.
- Collaborate with domestic and international Gateway partners.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident to facilitate access to USG facilities.
- B.S. in Electrical, Mechanical, Aerospace, Software, Computer, or Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or related disciplines.
- At least 3 years of software systems engineering experience including software design and development.
- Experience using MagicDraw and/or other Model Based Systems Engineering Tools.
- Experience defining and documenting interfaces between software applications.
- Experience developing/maintaining software architecture and design artifacts.
- Experience with EITHER:
- Autonomous or remotely controlled systems (e.g., used in satellites, autonomous cars, or unmanned aerial vehicles), OR
- Avionics and flight software development for human-rated space vehicles, e.g., Space Shuttle, International Space Station, Commercial Crew Vehicles, or Orion Multi-Purpose Crew Vehicle.
- Evidence of success in fast-paced, collaborative projects/environments.
- Flexible, open to new challenges in a dynamic environment.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities with little supervision.
- Responsible, team-oriented individual with strong work ethic.
- Well-developed coordination and organization skills.
- M.S. in Electrical, Mechanical, Aerospace, Software, Computer, or Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline.
- SysML experience.
- Experience or knowledge of database management.
- Experience with data management for software systems.
- Understanding of autonomous task planning.
- Experience in integrating distributed avionics and software systems.
- Experience with data driven software systems.
- Use case development experience.
- Experience in Agile software development environments and methodologies.
- Experience in the full life cycle of human-rated space vehicle flight projects (e.g., Space Shuttle, International Space Station, Commercial Crew Vehicles, or Orion).
