The Maintenance Engineer performs repairs and preventative maintenance work to ensure hotel maintenance quality standards are achieved and maintained. Keeps all equipment in good repair with a minimum of downtime by providing day-to-day maintenance of the hotel. And to complete maintenance work orders from all departments on a timely basis by following hotels standard operating procedures. Continually works toward and supports the improvement of engineering service to guests, other departments.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Provide the highest quality of service to the guest at all times.
· Respond to all maintenance work orders in a timely manner. Repair and maintain furniture and fixtures within the hotel.
· Perform general minor repairs to in-house plumbing, electrical, refrigeration, kitchen equipment and HVAC systems.
· Report work completed daily to supervisor.
· Respond in a courteous manner to guest questions, complaints and/or requests.
· May perform preventative maintenance and repairs in accordance with property standards.
· May perform general maintenance on property grounds.
· Maintain guest privacy by ensuring Key Control Policy is utilized and ensure no room numbers and/or guest names are given out without proper identification.
· Practice safety standards at all times and be alert to hazardous conditions. Report or correct any hazardous conditions immediately.
· Ability to prioritize and organize work assignments with attention to detail, speed and accuracy.
· Ability to maintain confidentiality of hotel guests and pertinent hotel information.
· Ability to read and understand test equipment, measuring devices, and safety manuals. Ability to interpret readings from meters & gauges and other measuring units.
· Test, troubleshoot and perform basic repair on all types of equipment. And to clean, lubricate, protect, and otherwise maintain all tools and equipment in the hotel.
· Carry out specific oral and written instructions.
· Maintain maintenance inventory and requisition parts and supplies as needed.
· Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional.
· Must be thoroughly familiar with Employee Handbook and all policies and rules it contains.
· Must adhere to all work rules, procedures, and policies established by the company, including, but not limited to, those contained in the Employee Handbook, Safety Manual, and operating guides.
· Wear proper attire at all times in accordance with the Company Dress Code.
· Other duties as assigned, of which employee is capable of performing.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· High School Diploma or Certification in Air conditioning/refrigeration or electrical/civil or mechanical.
· Computer Knowledge/Skills: MS Windows.
· Minimum 1+ years work experience.
· Must be able to carry and/or lift items that weigh approximately 50 lbs. and push and/or pull objects that weigh approximately 100 lbs.
· Ability to work in a neat and efficient manner, keeping work areas clean and well organized.
· Ability to multi-task in busy environment and adhere to hotel the Standard Operating Procedures.
