Job Description

Position: Maintenance Technician

The Maintenance Technician is responsible to perform routine maintenance of equipment, machinery and help troubleshoot and repair any mechanical or electrical problems when they arise. They are also responsible for maintaining buildings and grounds.

Responsibilities

Repairs, and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance.

Dismantles machinery and removes/replaces defective parts.

Determines changes in requirements of parts by inspecting and measuring various instruments.

Maintains inventories of equipment parts and supplies by checking stock and making recommendations for purchases.

Maintains a safe and clean work environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.

Troubleshoot electrical and control problems.

Perform predictive maintenance, duties that detect early signs of failure or mis-adjustment, complete projects such as mechanical and electrical hardware upgrades.

Ensure that the entire maintenance area of responsibility proactively supports all plant goals including safety measures.

Ensure all equipment and tools for which responsible are maintained in the proper operating condition to meet established facility needs, established safety, and standards.

Perform regular maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of production machinery, equipment, and specialty tools.

Walking, standing, bending and reaching frequently.

Lifting (up to 55lbs) often.

On an as need basis, establish and maintain effective preventative maintenance programs that ensures reliability and documentation.

Fully understands the operating procedure and the proper setting up machine(s) for operation.

Perform quality control, complete the necessary daily reports, and report problems to supervisor.

Ability to work on their own and work well with others.

Knowledgeable of expected surface preparation for steel and aluminum materials.

Required to maintain a safe and clean working area.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED

Minimum of three years performing maintenance in a production environment.

Speak and understand the English language.

Bilingual a plus (English/Spanish)

Basic written communication skills.

Ability to follow written and oral instructions.

A willingness to work late or early hours, weekends and overtime if necessary.

Remaining in challenging physical positions for long periods of time

Lifting a minimum of 50 pounds.
