RESPONSIBILITIES:Kforce has a client in Irving, TX that is seeking a Manager - Database Administration.
Job Responsibilities: Incident management - the Manager - Database Administration will join Tech Bridge when there is a database related issue; Lead and guide the DBAs and other teams through troubleshooting and resolution Manage the DBA on-call roster Provide recommendations on Cloud Database Platforms based on Application requirements and cost analysis Lead the Cloud Migration effort for databases Involved in Proof of Concepts for Cloud technologies/tools for database management, monitoring, alerting, etc and make recommendations Ensures database and database system implementation and designs adhere to documented standards The Manager - Database Administration ensures databases are monitored for reactive and proactive troubleshooting to include information needed for periodic health checks, capacity, and issues Oversees build of databases, database servers, and integration into application or data center/cloud environment Periodically reviews database team's processes, standards, and documents and take actions to improve those as necessary Ensures security is maintained on all databases Responsible for database related risks, controls, and audits Manages and provides guidance and mentorship to team members Manages, motivates, organizes, and controls the staff and contractors The Manager - Database Administration will participate in company Disaster Recovery exercises and ensure consistency, completion, and soundness of Application Recovery Plans from database perspectiveREQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or other equivalent technical discipline 5+ years of experience with Oracle databases 3-5 years of people management experience 1+ years of experience with Cloud (Google Cloud Platform preferred) database platforms and tools Deep understanding of Database concepts, knowledge of Database and SQL performance tuning would be highly desirable Strong analytical skills Experience with large scale multi-regional infrastructure deployments is nice to have Deep and demonstrated understanding of the project and system development lifecycle Effective communication (written and verbal) with technical and non-technical stakeholders across various business units and executivesKforce is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
