Portfolio includes managing various Center of Expertise (COE teams - Java COE, .NET COE, DevOps Tooling COE and DevOps Engineering COE) teams located on site, remote and offshore with global presence. The candidate will work directly with business units, Group CIO organizations and other IT organizations to lead the modernization of various technologies, onboard new tooling/technology for the enterprise, provide services/support for various legacy technology production applications. The candidate is accountable for providing leadership and guidance to various IT Dev teams across the organization in direct collaboration with Cybersecurity, Cloud, Infra, Network teams along with enterprise architects and process/data owners.What You Will Do:

Direct management of a global team with Project Managers, Team Leads, Architects and IT Analysts.

Plan and manage multi-year budget. Provide work direction for various offshore, agency, TPL resources.

Responsible for maximizing the value of existing tooling/technology, spearheading new tooling/technology research and onboarding approved tooling/technology for the enterprise.

Responsible for acting as a liaison for large, complex technology transformation projects with high value to the organization.

Responsible for enterprise level tooling/technology vision, draft strategy and multi-year goals for enterprise level execution.

Lead the team to identify niche technology, define Governance and best practices. Document benefits for onboarding them for enterprise adaption.

Communicate the vision to Caterpillar IT leadership, Group CIO organizations and IT leaders across the enterprise.

Collaborate closely with key stakeholders throughout the organization for executing enterprise level technology initiatives.

Be a good role model of project management and DevSecOps values; understand the framework and the roles of each team member.

Responsible for performing other job duties as assigned by Caterpillar management from time to time.

What You Have:

Four-year Bachelor’s degree preferably in computer science, information systems, engineering or related field.

Extensive job-related IT experience.

Management/leadership experience is preferred

Knowledge of business concepts, tools, and processes that are needed for making sound decisions in the context of the company's business; ability to apply this knowledge appropriately to diverse situations.

Direct development and/or deployment experience with SaaS and custom applications.

Experience working with onshore/offshore team model.

Strong experience leading enterprise development / deployment teams.

Advanced people skills to deal with sensitive, emotional, or potentially controversial situations.

Strong experience in Java, .NET, DevOps Tooling knowledge with hands-on development/implementation experience is preferred

Deeper understanding of (Google, Azure, AWS based) Cloud deployments, on-prem/cloud hosting strategy, Container strategy, DevOps CICD, Infrastructure cost optimization preferred

Knowledge of Azure DevOps, GitHub, GitHub Copilot and AI/ML related technology is preferred

Knowledge of Cybersecurity, Vulnerability Management and IT Risk Management preferred

MUST BE WILLING TO RELOCATE TO THIS LOCATION AND Work out of the office 3 times a week.

This position may require 10% travel.
