Leads and develops product development staff including software engineers and software quality assurance engineers while leveraging agile scrum methodologies. Coordinates activities related to the design, development, optimization, maintenance, troubleshooting, and implementation of software applications. Oversees the development of development and test strategies and systems. Drives application security best practices.What You’ll Do

Hire, train and lead staff for one or more software engineering teams in creation of best-in-class banking platforms.

Manage performance and daily activities of Software and Quality Assurance Engineers, conducting 1 on 1’s, performance reviews, and drive personal development.

Collaborate with Product Software Engineering Leadership, Architecture, and Agile teams to drive development best practices and delivery.

Collaborate with Product Management to ensure delivery of product needs.

Ensure technical debt is raised and addressed.

Drive application security best practices within the development organization and align to the security policies in place.

Provide production support as needed.

What You’ll Need

Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.

7+ years of experience in software development.

3+ years of experience managing Software Engineers

Experience with primary elements of software development lifecycle including scoping, estimating, developing, QA and testing, documentation, release management, security, and support.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, willingness to speak up to articulate ideas and needs.

Experienced with software development and quality assurance best practices and tools.

Ability to mentor team members on technical best practices and Agile development processes.

What Sets You Apart

5+ years leadership experience in a large-scale software development environment.

Experience supporting commercially sold Software as a Service products.

Experience building and leading teams developing applications using the tools of C#, .Net, Azure DevOps, Selenium automation, Git, and SQL.

Driven to stay current with new technologies and software craftsmanship.

Demonstrated ability to lead and grow successful development delivery teams on and offshore.

Strong knowledge of Agile and Scrum principles, roles, and processes.

Nice to Have’s

Familiarity with supporting US banking industry products including mortgage, commercial and consumer segments.

DevOps (builds, CI/CD, branch management) knowledge.

Experience working with geographically distributed teams.

Familiarity with security coding best practices.
