Digital Advice Technology is looking for a Manager, Software Applications Engineer to lead and manage software development teams in an agile environment including the coordination, prioritization, and communication across the business product areas. The role includes the leadership and management of both full-time employees and contractors. What you haveThis role requires a highly motivated, organized, and experienced technology leader with a proven record of software delivery, preferably within the financial services industry. Qualifications & Experience- Experience as a technical lead, coaching and mentoring a diverse, geographically distributed team of Application developers. Must be a good leader, guide and support the team, business and technology partners with solution development.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with application and service development or solution architecture building complex, resilient, and highly scalable applications in a large enterprise.
- Good understanding of strategic and new and emerging technology trends and be able to implement them
- Must have good understanding of technical issues, designs, and engineering best practices
- Understanding of agile methods and processes, and capability of supporting agile project teams by providing advice and guidance on opportunities, impact, and risks, taking account of technical and architectural debt.
- The candidate will be expected to monitor production support queues, be available on-call, assist in resolving production issues as well as help identify opportunities for process improvement.
- Great interpersonal and communication skills
- Experience in Financial Services Industry is preferred
- BS degree in Computer Science or related field
- Demonstrated ability to facilitate and lead technical discussions and drive solutions forward to achieve business needs
- Demonstrated experience with designing or working with highly available and reliable systems including work on technical design and architecture and KPIs for tracking and improving software reliability
- Strong experience facilitating issue intervention and driving improvements
- Substantiated experience raising the bar on team delivery quality and performance, cultivating high performance work environments and or technical solutions
- Ability to work hands on with team members to inspire and motivate all levels of staff towards both tactical and strategic delivery goals
- Ability to drive change with external counterparties and vendors, managing and enhancing relationships and services provided
- Outstanding performer, persistent and proactive leader, detailed oriented, and driven to exceed expectations
- Skilled communicator and negotiator with exceptional written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal skills
