In this role , you will assist with technical analysis of manufacturing processes in all aspects of production, costs, quality, compliance to safety guidelines, and environmental requirements for manufacturing.Caterpillar’s Industrial Power Systems Division (IPSD) designs, tests and manufactures 0.5 to 18L engines that not only power Caterpillar machines, but also power over 5000 other applications including Marine, Petroleum, Industrial Applications, Electric Generators, and Locomotives. Caterpillar’s company strategy includes sustainability as one of four focus areas and IPSD is engaged and actively preparing green energy solutions for the future.What You Will Do:

Participating in identifying and implementing enhancements and modifications to equipment and processes.

Monitoring equipment and process reliability; identifying and addressing problem areas.

Providing coaching and development for operations technical staff and support areas.

Providing engineering support on planning, development, operation, and maintenance of equipment, processes, or facilities.

What You Will Have:

Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.

Lean Manufacturing: Knowledge of the philosophy, principles and implementation approaches of lean manufacturing; ability to integrate and implement lean manufacturing philosophy into existing production and management processes.

Manufacturing Processes: Knowledge of existing product manufacturing methods, technologies and processes; ability to execute, plan, manage and monitor the entire manufacturing process.

Manufacturing Standards, Procedures and Policies: Knowledge of organizational standards, procedures and policies in manufacturing activities; ability to plan, guide, and monitor manufacturing processes for compliance.

Bachelor’s degree, preferably in an engineering or technical related discipline from an accredited college or university or experience equivalent

Thorough knowledge and experience of Manufacturing Engineering internal validation

Working experience in engine Paint and Assembly process.

Top Candidates Will Also Have

Understanding of engineering prints and paint specifications and operational drawings

Additional Information

Less than 10% travel required

Hours are 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
