Directs and coordinates activities of production scheduling, new order commitments, future state load capacity planning using available forecasting tools. Planning and developing the master production schedule for manufacturing products to meet delivery dates and/or achieve inventory levels or other distribution goals. In charge of managing department staff. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensure accuracy of customer order commitments
Works with the purchasing department to ensure the timely delivery of quality parts/materials.
Plans production control operations, establishing priorities and sequences for manufacturing products
Participates in production decisions concerning new product lines
Uses product specifications and release dates to determine schedules and resource needs
Use of available tools to ensure daily, weekly, monthly goals are clearly communicated to all production departments
Utilizes knowledge of production specifications, manufacturing processes, materials availability, and application of mathematical planning tools to develop plans
Closely monitor all instances of supply constraints and make suggestions for production shifts to ensure the budget is met
Works collaboratively with all departments to ensure any current/potential bottlenecks are being investigated and solutions proposed
Compiles, stores, and retrieves other production data
Partners with Customer Service to correct or adjust shop orders and maintain schedules
Manages department staff; responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees, coaching, and developing talent, addressing issues, and resolving problems
Monitors status of production results and prepares reports for Plant Manager
RequirementsPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
8+ years’ related experience/training may be substituted in lieu of degree
Must possess above average oral and written communication skills and demonstrated knowledge and understanding of manufacturing operations processes and inventory/production control
Must possess prior supervisory experience
Strong numeracy and analytical skills
Good problem-solving and time management skills
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office
Sets and achieves challenging goals

Bachelor’s degree in related field
