AS A HARDWARE DESIGN ENGINEER, YOU WILL:- Design and develop new products, including concept development, component design, design verification, scheduling, product costing, and reporting - the position involves project responsibility for mechanical parts andassemblies.
- Develop technical specifications based on productrequirements.
- Conduct feasibility studies to assess potential solutions to product requirements.
- Proactively participate and collaborate in cross-functional teams to achieve optimum outcomes.
- Work with internal and external mechanical engineering resources who are located locally and in other world areas.
- Prioritize goals focusing on delivering products on time while meeting cost and quality targets.
- Perform sustaining engineering for production parts and assemblies, evaluating and approving parts from new tooling.
- Conduct failure analysis and implementation of corrective measures.
- Create, review, and approve tolerance analysis studies.
- Collaborate with other departments to continuously improve quality and cost
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical field from an accredited college or university
- Minimum six (6) years of experience in the design and development of mechanical/electro-mechanical products
- Skilled in 3D CAD design
- Legal authorization to work in the United States - sponsorship will not be provided for this role.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Injection molded part design using SolidWorks
- Experience working within and managing the administration of SolidWorks Enterprise PDM
- Expert in six sigma approach to design and manufacturing
- Experience in design for manufacturing processes, such as injection molding, sheet metal forming and plating, machining, casting, and additive manufacturing
- Experience using Product Data Management tools such as Agile PLM
- Proficiency in performing thermal analysis for electronics
- Experience in a test lab environment (design and setup of product tests), including failure analysis
- Ability to create new detailed partand assembly drawings for manufacturing and specify critical-to-quality dimensions
- Ability to design labels and cosmetic artwork files in Adobe Illustrator
