Mechanical Designer - Piping and Instrumentation DesignP&ID - Fort Worth, TexasJob DescriptionWe are seeking an experienced and skilled Mechanical Designer 2 to join our team in designing piping systems using AutoCAD-based software. This role is crucial in supporting our shipyard projects, specifically for the United States Coast Guard's large vessel designs. The successful candidate will work under the guidance of a Designer 4 and collaborate closely with other Designers and Engineers.Responsibilities
Design piping systems using AutoCAD-based software.
Translate piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs) into 3D models and 2D drawings.
Collaborate with team members to ensure design accuracy and project success.
Communicate frequently with Designers and Engineers to align on project requirements and updates.
Learn and utilize specialized shipbuilding software.
Essential Skills
Proficiency in AutoCAD and mechanical design.
At least 1 year of prior job experience related to piping design.
Strong understanding of piping systems and instrumentation diagrams.
Ability to translate P&IDs into 3D models and 2D drawings.
Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Working knowledge of translating P&IDs to 3D models and 2D drawings.
Formal education in drafting.
Work EnvironmentThe position is based in an engineering service office.
