Anderson Cancer Center is to eliminate cancer in Texas, the nation, and the world through outstanding programs that integrate patient care, research and prevention, and through education for undergraduate and graduate students, trainees, professionals, employees and the public.SummaryThe primary purpose of the Medical Assistant in the Ambulatory Float Pool is rotating to clinics in the ambulatory setting as needed to provide patient care and customer service assistance to the ambulatory care patient, as delegated, and support daily operations of the clinic.The ideal candidate must have at least two years of recent ambulatory experience working in direct patient care as a Medical Assistant.Provides patient care services as assigned by a registered nurse.ScopeImpacts patient comfort and outcome of care.Essential Job Functions

Acts as member of a multidisciplinary team that identifies and addresses patient care needs.

Assists in completion of activities of daily living, mobilization, admit/discharge and obtaining vital signs.

Updates and retrieves patient information.

Ensures patient environment is maintained in a clean, safe and orderly manner.

Acts as part of the assigned care team. Other duties as assigned.

EducationRequired : High school diploma/equivalent.ExperienceRequired : One year of medical assistant experience.Preferred : Graduate of an approved Medical Assistant program or US Military medical services training program.
