Medical Billing Specialist

Description We are offering a contract to permanent employment opportunity for a Medical Billing Specialist in San Antonio, Texas. This role will be located in the healthcare industry and will require a detail-oriented individual with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities: Review and analyze electronic visit verification (EVV) and Vesta Billing records and documentation to ensure accurate coding and billing Assign appropriate diagnosis and procedure codes using Vesta billing coding systems Prepare and submit claims to Managed Care Organizations for reimbursement Follow up on unpaid or denied claims, and appeal as necessary Coordinate with Client Care Coordinators, clients, and insurance companies to resolve billing issues Maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to HIPAA regulations Proficiency in home health billing systems, particularly VESTA Familiarity with home health terminology, procedures, and diagnoses Experience with home health billing processes and systems Knowledge of Accounts Receivable (AR), Appeals, Billing Functions, Claim Administration, Collection Processes, Medical Billing, Claim Denials, Denials, Insurance Denials, and Medicaid Familiarity with Accounting Software Systems, EHR SYSTEM, IBM AS/400, Medisoft, and Microsoft Excel. Requirements Proficiency in accounting software systems is essential for this role Familiarity and experience with EHR SYSTEM Must have knowledge of IBM AS/400 Experience with Medisoft is required Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is necessary Must have experience handling accounts receivable (AR) Should be skilled in appeals and billing functions Knowledge of claim administration is required Experience with collection processes and medical billing is necessary Familiarity with claim denials and insurance denials is essential Understanding of Medicaid procedures is required Experience in home health is needed Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
