6:45 pm - 7:15 am

Views patient monitors on a continual basis and informs nursing staff of any significant changes in activity immediately; accesses assistance in responding to noted changes in patients and others exhibiting signs of a heart attack, stroke or respiratory distress.

Requires basic understanding of dysrythmias. Mastery of the English language and requires knowledge, ability, and judgment to:1. Make critical rhythm interpretations2. Communicate rhythm changes to staff nurse or charge nurse.3. Numerical ability to make simple arithmetic calculations4. Apply basic understanding of the function and inter-relationship of each hospital department. 5. Organize and complete work assigned6. Anticipate the needs of physicians, nurses and other hospital departments7. Communicate the needs of patient, families and visitors in a professional and timely manner recognizing life threatening signs and symptoms of heart attack, stroke and respiratory distress.

Qualifications

Education: High School Diploma or GED

Experience: One year of Telemetry Tech experience is preferred. Knowledge of telemetry. Strong organizational and interpersonal skills. Must be able to determine appropriate course of action in more complex situations. Ability to work independently, attentive to detail maintain a positive work attitude. Must be able to manage multiple simultaneous responsibilities and to prioritize scheduling of work. Must possess ability to maintain confidentiality of all medical, financial and legal information. Must be able to complete work assignments accurately and in a timely manner.

Licenses/Certificates: Current American Heart Association BLS or within first week of hire. Crisis Prevention Intervention certified at time of hire or within 90 days of hire.
