Daily Responsibilities in Messaging Admin role:
- Troubleshooting / Diagnosing / Resolving daily issues in Development / Testing and Production Environments
- High Priority Production issue resolution
- Engaging and liaising with other technology areas and line of businesses
- Environment Break-Fix
- Disaster Recovery / Sustained Resilience Co-ordination and Testing
- Root Cause Analysis
- Service Improvements based on re-occurring issues and RCAs
- Working within a shift pattern to allow follow the sun support 24/7
- Planning and implementing MQSeries / Kafka / TIBCO configuration changes
- Planning and implementing maintenance activities: SSL certificate renewals, OS patching, MQ / TIBCO / Messaging products patching.
- Strong experience in a working in a middleware operational function
- Detailed understanding of Messaging and how it functions in secure environments
- Good problem & customer management, analytical, self-motivation, verbal and written communication skills and an ability to deliver in high pressure situations
- Strong technical skills with proficiency in:
- MQSeries / TIBCO / Kafka administration tasks
- MQSeries / TIBCO / Kafka problem determination
- Unix / Windows System Administration
- Java/Python development a plus
- Must be able to work with and leverage skills from other teams in the organization
- Experience working in a customer facing role and part of a geographically distributed team
- Develop, test and debug automated tasks (Apps, Systems, Infrastructure)
- Troubleshoot priority incidents, facilitate blameless post-mortems
- Work as a bridge between Middleware Feature and Operation teams throughout the software and platform life cycle ensuring sustainable software releases
- Perform analytics on previous incidents and usage patterns to better predict issues and take proactive actions
- Build and drive adoption for greater self-healing and resiliency patterns
- Lead and participate in performance tests; identify bottlenecks, opportunities for optimization, and capacity demands
- Participate in the 24x7 support coverage as needed
- Participate with GTI Core Middleware Platform Datacenter migrations
- Assist with the LOB Application migration running on GTI Core Middleware Platform
- Ability to work with automated pave/repave platform provisioning as well as day to day operation automation
- Understand the interplay of Application and Platforms to provide support with Middleware components
