Network Administrator

Description We are offering a contract for a permanent position as a Network Administrator to join our team in San Antonio, Texas. As a Network Administrator, you will be instrumental in optimizing network performance, implementing necessary changes, and providing technical support to our team. This role is integral to the smooth running of our operations in the Healthcare industry.Responsibilities Monitor and optimize network performance to ensure efficiency and reliability. Implement software patches and hardware modifications to address deficiencies and enhance network capability. Configure and document LAN and WAN components such as firewalls, routers, switches, and hubs to align with business needs. Respond promptly to inquiries and provide technical assistance to staff, administrators, service providers, site personnel, and external vendors. Maintain comprehensive knowledge of Cisco Layer 2 technologies; VLAN, VTP, Port Security, and Cisco Layer 3 technologies; OSPF, EIGRP, BGP. Manage and support Ethernet, LAN - Local Area Network, Routers, Switches, TCP/IP - Transm Ctrl Prot/Internet Prot, WAN - Wide Area Network, VPN - Virtual Private Network. Ensure the smooth operation of Cisco Products and Cisco Unity. Requirements Proficiency in Cisco Products is a crucial requirement for the role. Familiarity with Cisco Unity is necessary. The candidate should have extensive knowledge of Firewall systems. A strong understanding of Ethernet technologies is required. The applicant must have experience in LAN - Local Area Network. Competence in handling Routers is a must. The candidate should be adept in managing Switches. TCP/IP - Transm Ctrl Prot/Internet Prot knowledge is necessary. The applicant must have experience in WAN - Wide Area Network. Proficiency in VPN - Virtual Private Network is required.
