This division is responsible for networks, servers, enterprise services and cloud. As a network engineer you will support the planning, design, implementation, and ongoing support of the LAN & WAN. General Responsibilities:- Maintain and control computer networks and related computing environments together with structures software, programs software, hardware, and configurations
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve software, hardware, and other network and system problems
- Design and implementation of new solutions and improve the resilience of the modern surroundings
- Monitor overall network performance for possible changes/upgrades
- Configuration of routing, switching, firewall and security appliances/equipment
- Design, implement and support the operation of all internal and wide area networks
- Research, identify, procure, install, and support all network hardware and firmware
- Interact with members of the networking team, other ITD staff, internal and external entities
- Interact with State of Texas 3rd party providers and vendors
- Strong ability and focus on network troubleshooting and resolution
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
