We are looking for a strong Network Engineer for a

Direct Hire / Full Time role in Houston, TX with a security focus to maintain a reliable, secure and efficient data communications network. The ideal candidate will be able to deploy, configure, maintain, and monitor all active network equipment to ensure smooth and secure network operation. You should be a self-starter with tons of initiative, detail-oriented, thorough, ambitious, and creative. Above all, you must be a team player.

Duties and Responsibilities:• Provide technical oversight and hands on administration of a multi-site enterprise level WAN/LAN, including planning, implementation/expansion, maintenance, and troubleshooting• Manage and maintain firewalls, load balancers, VPN Concentrators, and other enterprise networking technologies• Design, deploy, and administer the Wireless Infrastructure and supporting systems• Analyze and monitor network security and make recommendations or implement patches/fixes to address potential security concerns• Respond to cyber security incidents utilizing network analytics and forensics• Work with telco providers and vendors to manage circuits across 40+ distributed locations• Create and maintain detailed documentation on all aspects of the network• Work with users, customers and vendors to resolve issues, gather information and plan projects• Work in and efficient a well-planned manor to align activities with ongoing business operations and technology projects• Any and all other duties as assigned

Skills/ Capabilities and Education:• Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in Computer Science or equivalent job experience• 6 years of extensive networking and troubleshooting in a medium to large distributed environment and relevant work experience

• Extensive knowledge of TCP/IP, VLANS, Routing, NAT/PAT, QoS, BGP, OSPF, IPSec and DMVPNs.

• Solid understanding of network security and related tools and technologies• Experience with Wireless LAN technologies Specifically Meraki• Solid understanding of LAN/WAN monitoring tools and troubleshooting performance and efficiency issues.

• Extensive experience with Cisco Routers, Switches, ASA Firewalls, and FirePower• Requires good organization skills to produce quality work, within required specifications, to meet tight schedules• Excellent problem solving skills. Able to take complex tasks or problems and break it into smaller more manageable pieces.• Ability to set priorities, meet deadlines and multi-task with minimal supervision• Experience developing creative network solutions in very remote locations• Industry recognized network or security certifications a plus

Working Conditions:
  • Periodic lifting requirements of up to 25lbs
  • The incumbent spends the majority of time sitting or standing in a comfortable position with ample opportunity to move about
  • Travel may be required, but is expected to be less than 10% of the time worked.
  • This position requires the ability to read and interpret complex technical data
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally, (verbal and written) with technical and non-technical audiences.
