Position Purpose and ObjectivesThis person will work with CUTX business units and partners to support our enterprise data and network infrastructure. This person must have excellent customer service, organizational, interpersonal and communication skills. Must also have the ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks in a fast-moving technical environment. Some afterhours work is required.

Major Duties and Essential Functions
  • Responsible for the daily health and maintenance of the CUTX network.
  • Responsible for network hardware and software installation and repair, including documentation.
  • Assists in the installation, testing, and repairing of all elements of the Network (including power, network hardware, communications equipment, servers, phone system, software, and services).
  • Utilizes software and hardware tools, identifies and diagnoses problems and factors affecting network performance.
  • Ensures that installations of networks for personal computers, printers and a variety of Network/Data Center equipment are installed properly.
  • Responsible for network repairs and administration functions to include remote branches.
  • Provides second-level support for Helpdesk support tickets as it relates to networking.
  • Assists in documenting all networking and communications infrastructure for both Local Area Networks and Wide Area Networks.
  • Assists with the implementation of new network technologies and products.
  • Assists with maintaining Network Products Licensing for the credit union.
  • Responsible for keeping configuration network inventory current for disaster recovery planning.
  • Alerts Network Engineer and Management of failures or degradation and assists in performing corrective actions. Ensures proper escalation during outages or periods of degraded system performance.
  • Ensures adherence to Information Systems policies, procedures and standards.
  • Recognizes and identifies potential areas where existing policies and procedures require change.
  • This position may require working after hours, weekends and holiday work with some 7x24 availability for this position.

    Specific knowledge, skills, and abilities required for this position: An undergraduate degree in computer science or business is preferred, but not required, equivalent technical experience acceptable. Must have a minimum of 4 years installation, repair, support and administration experience in a IS server, telecommunication, network and/or IS Operations environment. Recent technical training in Information Systems field is necessary due to rapid changes in these technical areas.

    Education

    : Undergraduate degree and/or equivalent experience and certifications. Certifications can include: Cisco certification, Palo Alto Networks certification, CompTIA Network + and A+ Certification, Aruba Wifi certification.

    Experience

    : Experience with VLANs, VLAN Trunk, Spanning tree, vpc, port channeling, HSRP (or VRRP), QOS for VOIP, DHCP, and related L2 technologies. Experience with BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, DIA, IPSec, DMVPN, GRE tunneling and other L3 technologies.Experience designing, configuring and maintaining Cisco ACI/NX-OS router/switches, FortiGate VPN, Palo Alto, and Aruba wireless. Experience with ManageEngine, PRTG, LiveNX or equivalent monitoring tools.Minimum 2 years of directly related experience.
