Position Responsibilities

Mechanics must be familiar with all aspects of vehicle operation and must understand the functions of the major components and systems.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Repair Trailers

Trailer Inspections

Miscellaneous repairs

Road calls when necessary from service truck

Perform other duties as assigned or requested

Computer Skills

Basic computer skills

Education Requirements

Associate degree in Trailer Repair or HSD

Experience Requirements

At least 3 years’ experience in related field.

Core Competencies

Must have good analytical skills to diagnose problems and make decisions about the most suitable repairs.

May have to operate diagnostic equipment if the shop has no diagnostic technician.

Must be competent at using servicing and maintenance tools and equipment, and be familiar with the different categories of lubricants and service parts.

Good interpersonal skills to discuss vehicle problems and solutions with Maintenance Manager.

Must have good organization skills, and have basic math skills for tracking trends and for report writing.

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to outside weather conditions, is around fumes/odors and chemicals, and is around heavy machinery/safety hazards. Must be able to lift up to 60 lbs. and must be familiar with Materials Handling equipment.
