Nursery Maintenance Mechanic

Here’s what you’ll do:Troubleshoots and repairs basic nursery equipment.Adjusts functional parts of equipment and control devices.Repairs or replaces defective parts.Performs preventative maintenanceSets up and operates lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts.Inspects product for all defects and records results on required forms. Informs supervisor if any defects are found.Efficiently operates electronic devices such as iPads and computers.Other responsibilities also include and are not limited to:Assist with training in job responsibilities and safety procedures.General labor work including filling pots, planting seeds and seedlings, pest control, pruning trees, spraying (applying chemical solutions to plants), weeding, picking and sorting treesPreparing and packing trees for field delivery (loading/unloading)Cleaning equipment and facilitiesMaintaining and repair irrigation systemPerforms all tasks in a safe manner. Required to wear all safety gear assigned and asks for instructions when unfamiliar or lacking knowledge of proper safety proceduresBe a self-motivated and flexible team player with a strong work ethic.Perform other responsibilities related to farming or as directed by supervisor
