System One is partnering with a client in metal forging that is looking to hire on a Packer to work in their packaging department, for a contract to hire opportunity. The Packer position is responsible for the packaging of a manufactured dust product. The Packer position is a support role for several areas of manufacturing. Operate machines to prepare industrial products for storage or shipment. COMP: $16/hr Requirements High School education or equivalent is preferred.

Understand and follow basic verbal and written instructions.

Effectively communicate information and respond to questions from various levels within the organization.

Possess basic mathematical skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.

Perform basic visual quality inspections on products.

Maintain the production pace of other team members.

Utilize power tools and various equipment as needed to perform duties.

Must be certified or become certified in operation of forklift.

Core Accountabilities

Sort, grade, weigh, and inspect products, verifying and adjusting product weight or measurement to meet specifications.

Observe machine operations to ensure quality and conformity of filled or packaged products to standards.

Monitor the production line, watching for problems such as pile-ups, jams, or glue that isn't sticking properly.

Attach identification labels to finished packaged items, or cut stencils and stencil information on containers, such as lot numbers or shipping destinations.

Stock and sort product for packaging or filling machine operation, and replenish packaging supplies, such as wrapping paper, plastic sheet, boxes, cartons, glue, ink, or labels.

Package the product in the form in which it will be sent out

Inspect and remove defective products and packaging material.

Perform production duties such as manual lifting, packaging, taping, labeling operations and sorting.

Move product and inventory using a forklift and bin system.

Perform related duties as required by supervision.

Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to extreme heat.

The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; and fumes and/or airborne particles.

The noise level in the workplace is generally loud.
