Part-time Controller

Description Robert Half is assisting in the recruitment process for a part-time contract Controller for a small, family-owned business. This PE company holds a portfolio consisting of 3 separate entities. A successful candidate will be directly reporting to the Partners and will support the existing, albeit small, accounting teams of the 3 separate entities. This part-time contract Controller role is estimated to be 20 hours per week (although hours will vary and can be flexible) and can be fully remote. There is the possibility this contract could turn into a long-term/permanent position.Primary Responsibilities:

Provide guidance and work closely with accounting teams in the three different entities.

Oversee the month-end close and execution of all financial operations across all three entities.

Maintain clean records and ensuring financial compliance.

Supervise and conducting a physical inventory quarterly in cooperation with the team.

Coordinate regularly with CPA and provide year-end support

Provide quarterly reviews of 941 payroll taxes

Be available for ad hoc projects and ready to tackle unprecedented financial issues that may arise.

Requirements

Qualifications:

Degree in Finance or Accounting or related field

7-10+ years’ experience in a supervisory accounting position

Previous experience in manufacturing

Expertise in QuickBooks Enterprise and QuickBooks Online; Salesforce knowledge is a plus.

Demonstrated ability to work with teams across different locations.

Ability to understand and manage complex financial operations with deferred revenue being a major component.

Readiness to work for up to 20 hours a week, with the intensity varying from week to week.
