We’re looking for qualified Patient Care Tech (PCT) Apprentice like you to join our Texas Health Dallas family.Position HighlightsWork location: Texas Health Dallas, 8200 Walnut Hill Lane, Dallas TX 75231Work environment: Ortho H3NWork hours:Full-Time, 36 hours per week.

Three 12-hour Night shifts per week, 7:00pm – 7:00am, with rotating weekends and holidays.

Must be available to attend the 4-week Apprentice Program initially, Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm.

Upon successful completion of the program, the Trainee will transition into a Patient Care Tech role.

Texas Health Presbyterian Dallas is an 898-bed, Magnet-designated hospital and recognized clinical program leader, having provided compassionate care to the residents of Dallas and surrounding communities since 1966. A full-service regional referral center, Texas Health Dallas has approximately 3,500 employees and 1,100 physicians on its medical staff, and offers a full range of services, including cancer care, cardiology, neurosciences, orthopedics, senior care, women's services and a renowned Level III neonatal intensive care unit. Texas Health Dallas has been recognized as a U.S. News and World Report Best Hospital in multiple specialties and is an accredited Cycle IV Chest Pain Center by the Society of Chest Pain Centers. The hospital is also a Bariatric Surgery Center of Excellence, a certified Emergency Stroke Care center and was named “Best Place to Have a Baby” in Dallas County in 2012QualificationsHigh School Diploma or equivalent required.

Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) required prior to providing independent patient care and must be maintained quarterly.

Possesses organizational skills to function in a fast-paced work environment, positive interpersonal skills, and good verbal and written communication skills.

Position Responsibilities Texas Health Dallas Patient Care Techs (PCT) Apprentices are responsible for “learning while you earn” to create a pathway towards a career in healthcare to provide an excellent patient care experience at each Texas Health site.In addition to the required qualifications, a successful PCT Apprentice will :Complete a PCT apprenticeship program. Curriculum to include:Basic patient care skills

Patient rights, communication, safety, observation, and reporting

Assisting patients in maintaining basic comfort and safety
