Three 12-hour Day shifts per week, 7:00am – 7:00pm, with rotating weekends and holidays.

Sign-On Bonus: $8,000 for eligible external new hires only

Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital of Plano is a 386-bed, Magnet-designated hospital and a recognized clinical leader, providing technologically advanced care to Plano, Frisco and surrounding communities since 1991. This full-service facility features a comprehensive range of specialties, including emergency medicine, cardiology, adult and adolescent behavioral health, state of the art surgical services and the only AACN Beacon Gold adult intensive care unit in the DFW area. Other accomplishments include:Only health care facility in Collin County to have achieved both Level IV NICU and Level IV Maternal facility designation

A Level II Trauma facility

DNV-certified Comprehensive Stroke Program; also recognized by the American Heart Association with Gold Plus Target: Honor Roll elite status

Accredited by the Joint Commission in Hip and Knee Replacement, and as a Primary Heart Attack Center

The Cardiac Program has received the American Heart Association’s STEMI Receiving Center Gold Plus Award for two consecutive years, and the American College of Cardiology’s 2021 NCDR Platinum Performance Achievement Award for Chest Pain-MI Registry

Bariatric Surgery program is a Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Accreditation and Quality Improvement Program (MBSAQIP)

Oncology Program is accredited through the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer

Texas Health Plano has more than 1,700 employees and 1300 physicians in more than 65 specialties on its medical staff.

QualificationsHigh School Diploma or equivalent required.

Must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency.

State of Texas Certified Nurse’s Aide (C.N.A.) License upon hire required, or, Successful completion of THR approved Patient Care Tech (PCT) Training Program upon hire required, or, Nursing Student who has completed fundamentals of nursing from an accredited nursing school/program upon hire required, or, United States Military experience with medical training equivalent upon hire required.

Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) required prior to providing independent patient care and must be maintained quarterly.

Required to complete Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) training within 60 days of start date.

Experience working as a Patient Care Tech (PCT) or Certified Nurse’s Aide (CNA), especially in an acute care hospital setting highly preferred.

Skills & Abilities:Possesses organizational skills to function in a fast-paced work environment, positive interpersonal skills, and good verbal and written communication skills.

Nursing Students who do not complete course of study in nursing but having completed their Fundamentals Training and EMTs who do not retain formally retain their EMT status may continue in role if they have consistently demonstrated skills in their PCT position.

After hire PCT CNA renewal is not a requirement of the role if the PCT has consistently demonstrated skills in their PCT position.

Position ResponsibilitiesTexas Health Presbyterian Plano Patient Care Techs (PCT) are responsible for providing an excellent patient healthcare experience at each Texas Health site.Essential FunctionsCARE OF PATIENT/TECHNICAL SKILLS:Provides assistance to patient according to plan of care.

Collects patient data, identifies and reports significant findings to nurse.

Assists in admission/transfer/discharge.

Provides and Revises patient activities of daily living based on patient/family preferences.

Performs technical procedures safely and proficiently.

Takes action to reduce or eliminate patient risk.

Enters orders into computer or manual system if applicable.

Documents accurately and appropriately.

In collaboration/consultation with the nurse, adapts care to reflect patient population.

In collaboration/consultation with nurse, incorporates cultural/religious needs and beliefs into delivery of care.

Keeps patient environment clean and maintains safe environment.

Anticipates patient/family and visitor needs and takes action to meet those needs and rounds as appropriate.

PARTNERSHIP:Uses Professional Practice Model philosophy to work in partnership with patients, families, physicians, peers and all other disciplines.

Demonstrates adaptability and flexibility to changes in schedule and/or workload assignment necessary to meet changing needs of the individual patient or unit.

Makes new team members feel welcome and offers assistance with orientation of new employees.

Acceptable use of interpersonal relationship skills and communication with patients, families, co-workers, physicians, all disciplines and other customers.

Organizes workload and effectively collaborates with nursing to prioritize care.

WORKPLACE/PERSONAL ACCOUNTABILITY:Maintains and enhances patient care skills.

Seeks assistance and supervision when performing unfamiliar tasks.

Serves as a patient advocate.

Complies with personnel policies.

Communicates per department expectations.

Recognizes and promptly communicates ethical and legal concerns through established channels of communication.

QUALITY AND SAFETY:Assists in the identification of ineffective and costly processes and takes action to improve them.

Participates in the process improvement activities within the department/hospital.
