Description We are offering a contract-to-permanent employment opportunity for a Payroll Clerk in the Waste, Refuse, & Environmental Waste Management industry, located in Houston (Clear Lake Area), Texas. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the primary payroll person in processing bi-weekly payroll, among other accounting duties. Responsibilities: Assist in processing bi-weekly payroll for approximately 190 employees. Verify employees' work hours and payments through the payroll system. Review payroll and reports for accuracy. Handle federal tax filings and quarterly state reporting. File employee deductions with the appropriate organizations. Utilize Microsoft Excel for various accounting functions. Oversee check processing and payroll tax deposits. Prepare and submit payroll tax returns. Handle payroll tax reporting and management of payroll taxes. Perform other accounting duties as assigned. Skills: Proficiency in Accounting Functions and Accounts Payable. Knowledge of Benefit Functions. Experience in Payroll processing for 101 - 500 Employees. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Familiarity with Payroll Tax Reporting, Payroll Tax Deposits, and Payroll Tax Returns.Requirements Minimum of 2 years experience as a Payroll Clerk or in a related role within the Waste, Refuse & Environmental Waste Management industry Proficient in Accounting Functions and Accounts Payable (AP) Experience with Benefit Functions and Check Processing Ability to manage Payroll for 101 - 500 Employees Proven experience in processing Biweekly Payroll Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is essential Strong knowledge in Payroll Tax Reporting, Payroll Tax Deposits, Payroll Tax Returns, and Payroll Taxes Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to handle confidential information with discretion Willingness to stay updated with the latest payroll tax changes and labor laws.
